Laura Weber Ploughe
I am a plant community and ecosystem ecologist with a general interest in how systems respond to climate change and other anthropogenic disturbances. Currently, I am a postdoctoral fellow at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. I am currently working on projects that utilize ecological principals to conserve and maintain diverse native plant communities as well as other projects exploring the long-term effects of grazing and climate change on plant and soils in British Columbia and the effects of recreational activities (off-road vehicles) on ecosystem processes. I received my PhD from Purdue University, where my research focused on climate change, specifically on precipitation changes, and the impacts on plant communities and ecosystem processes.
